Ricky Powell Jr is an incredible talent from the Midwest. One who captures the essence of iconic and custom characters, and transform them into the NOW! Ricky fell in love with art at a very early age. He drew his first picture at the age of four, and he's been drawing ever since.

In high school he found himself in his art, with the help of his favorite art teacher Mrs. Patterson. She was and still is a huge inspiration for him. She taught him how to grid and how to proportion his pictures. Ricky has a rare gift, that allows him to be able, to produce a wide variety of work.

On July 6, 2016, Ricky met famous abstract artist Cecil Bernard; who told him that he is dope at his craft. He specialized in portraits and prisma colors at that time. He told him that he would sell more work, if he started to paint. Until then he hadn't been into painting.

His high school art teacher, tried to get him to paint for years. Ricky took in what Cecil Bernard said, and heard God tell him, to give painting a try. He went to Youtube and taught himself how to paint. The rest is history. His motto is "You dream it, i'll paint it. From portraits, to abstract; to everything in between, I can do it."

In 2017 Ricky started to reach new heights in business. With paintings being sold in Canada and the UK, his dreams of having international exhibits were one step closer. He is now a full time artist. To reach new heights within in his craft, as well as give back, Ricky worked as an instructor for Pinot’s Pallet. Teaching art classes was a very educational, and fulfilling experience for him.

He is no longer with the organization, but he still offers paint classes and independent lessons. Ricky participated in a show, for The CK Comics & Collectibles in Manitou Springs. That show garnered him the attention, to showcase at Galaxy Fest in Colorado Springs. Galaxy Fest is similar to Comic-Con, usually holding an audience of 4,000+, one of largest events of his career to date.

Ricky sold 104 original paintings and 5 prints, during his first full year of painting. He is continuing to strengthen and expand his craft. With 54 original paintings sold so far this year, he has began to partner with multiple organizations, to spread his craft internationally.

These partnerships include A Populace Brand: LLC of Highlands Virginia, Love’s Jazz and Arts Center in Omaha Nebraska; The Incredible Art Gallery in Denver, Whole Meds In Denver; My 420 tours in Denver, Cottonwood Center the Arts in Colorado Springs; CK Comics and Collectibles in Manitou Springs, and in Pittsburgh.

Ricky has also expanded his customer base, to include executives for Union Pacific; Harvard, Lolo’s Chicken &Waffles; national performer Johnny Britt, and world renowned rapper Snoop Dogg. He was recently was able, to be apart of a huge annual event in Denver; 420 On The Block, which had an attendance of 45,000+. He acquired his first client from Bermuda during that event.
